The exercise you offer here does something that a lot of pain science writing doesn't: it invites distributed awareness rather than just describing it. That shift from locating yourself behind the eyes to sensing from the gut or the chest is small but not trivial, and in my experience it's one of the places where something actually begins to move for people.
