Pain is widely misunderstood.
Pain is not:
A direct measure of tissue damage
Purely physical
Pain is:
A protective signal to prompt action
Deeply influenced by past experiences, beliefs, and emotional states
It’s possible to understand these concepts intellectually. But for many, transforming your experience requires embodied practice.
That’s why we’re doing a workshop with Daoist practitioner and teacher, Craig Mallett. Craig has a practical approach that we think is aligned with DYP’s vision of pain transformation.
Here’s what you can expect during the workshop:
Theory: Max (MIT pain researcher & Debug Your Pain creator) will explain pain with support from evolutionary biology, neuroscience, and predictive control theory.
Practice: Craig will teach Daoist principles (opening & releasing) that can reshape your experience and relationship with pain. Also, Max will guide participants through a clinically demonstrated awareness technique for processing pain.
You can book a spot to the workshop this Thursday, March 13th from 4-7pm ET by clicking the button below.
